hi all,
thought I'd ask the people who would know whether or not the Pygopristis denticulatus are social enough for a SA community of various species? They have been described here as smaller and much more passive than most but am i barking up the wrong tree with these chaps or are they a more interesting shoaling option that would otherwise be replaced by run of the mill silver dollars or equivalent?

Cheers.

I know they shoal great together but are fin nippers. You can try it but I wouldnt recommend it. I would think they wouldnt kill any of the sa's but just nip at them and tear their fins a lot.

There is a guy on piranha fury who had a very successful p. dent and silver dollar community. But not sure if a sa p. dent would work.

thanks for the reply. I can fully appreciate that being of the piranha group, they would be.... nippy The current inhabitants are as follows;
2x Tat's 8"ish
1x Geo Altifron 5"
3x Geo Surinamensis (sp) 4/5"
2x geo Brasiliensis 4"
1x Cren. Venezuela 7" (probably going to sell as he will get too big too fast- had it 2 months and has grown 4" and is already out competing the tats for food)
1x Hujeta 5"

Knowing that this species is of the smaller variant, i would be inter tested to know/see if they would be subdued enough not to bother the other inhabitence...?

I'm debating something like these guys or a Wolf fish of some description. I have a common wolf but would love something interesting to complete the tank.
