hey my mom wont let me get a senegal and an african knife unless i solve this issue. how can i care for my pets over vacation.ima be gone about one month and i got everything figered out exept the feeding part. my uncle says he could buy food from the store but i dont want it to be a hassle for him. could he just buy feeders every week and throw em in? any advice?

yea, or leave him with a stock pile of food. its not like hikari pellets go bad after a month.

Measure out food ahead of time and put it in one of those little boxes with the days of the week labeled on it, like people use for pills- the type with all the different compartments. Ask him to feed it on those days.

For that month, really your fish only need fed every few days. And if you don't have real plants, you don't even need to worry about lights or anything like that.

Measure out the food and tell your uncle feed every two-three days. That way the water will not dirty as fast.

That sounds like it might be stretching the bichir a bit. Id say if he's fat give him some ghost shrimp once a week. Those seem to hold mine over well
