hi guys, I have 2 elephant nose around 10cm. They are doing really good but I hate having to feed them frozen bloodworms (I found them disgusting to touch!)
so far I have been told that some of the elephant nose eats
-colourbits (tetracolour bits)
-aoa expensive stuff!
-hikari carnivore sinking pellets (i have seen the smaller one eat it then spitting then eating again etc)
Anyone else found any other dry food they will take? I was thinking of freezed dried tubifex worms.
thanks,
Mark

They prefer frozen foods, particularly bloodworms, but there is still a good variety of other frozen foods that they will like. Most don't accept other foods (pellets etc) until they have settled into a tank for many months.

well my two elephant nose is like the king of the tank (its been 3-4months)
they are around 10cm or so and loves bloodworms!!
anyway I want to get them off bloodworms (frozen). can some tell me if they eat freeze dried tubifex worms? or can i starve them until they eat pellets?
cheers

My girls elephant nose would eat tropical flake food. He was sooooooo cooool. My girl and I loved him untill we lost him 6 hours after we transfered him into a small tank at my girls place from mine while I was without power for 4 days. She had a generator at the time.
:( very upsetting.

Ive found them very hard to get onto dry food. I think that foods like new era american pellets and tetra prima could work. They are a very good quality sinking pellet.
Although ive no first hand experience with this...

well what i am doing is mixing tetra/nls and other type of quality dry food along with bloodworm. my elephant nose eats it but most of the pellets get spat out by the bigger one but the smaller one seem to eat some of it.
i'll let you know my result. Oh both mine readily take freeze dried bloodworms (once again smaller one likes it more)
