Took these pics over the weekend. Talked to a person who said they were shipped incorrectly and that the tails will NOT expected to ever heal or correct themselves.

UHHHGH!! Thats awful!! Not to be a jerk or anything but if the tails don't heal could you cut the tail off??? Maybe that would look better. Sorry everyone if that offends you. On anther note nice looking tank. I love the horse shoe crabs!! Very cool!! How big is the tank?

Aww, the poor things. Will that be detrimental to them in the long run, or just funky looking?

I had an Otorongo with a tail that was like that. The supplier kept him in too small of tank for too long, as in 6-7 months. It corrected in less time. I can't believe that that happened in transit time.

oh wow that is horrible. There is no hope for the tail to grow back to normal? Where are these rays?

shame but atleast the rays are still alive

Still its something cool to distinguish the ray, as long as its happy in its new home then who cares, just living proof of what poor conditions some animals are kept in to please the human pet trade.

I was just there a few months ago. Must be a new one. At least it'll be well taken care of over there. Corkscrew-Tailed Ray :(

that is insane... i wish people would take the time to care for such beautiful creatures. i don't know how you can look at them and just not instantly want for them to be okay, or to take care of them. they are so amazing. it would have taken such little time to avoid something like that happening.
