:iagree: All the above small Cichlid pellets chopped worms Beef Heart is good but you need to grind it up, If you filtration is not up to speed can turn the tank. Just remember they are Cichlids so eat almost any thing but there mouths are very small. My father used to bread them very successfully and used a mixture of beef heart spinage and cichlid pellets all ground up in a grinder. :screwy: I know it sounds weird but it worked well.
And feeders :)
i just found that out when my large wilds ate some rosys i put in there for the dat

I bulked mine up with a mixture of flake most of it however was vegetable based. I also used some flake that claimed "it is created by a special state of the art process that makes highly nutritious flake firm and highly digestible."
What will also help bulk up the fish is feeding them what they can eat in a few minutes a few times a day.... something like 4-6 times a day would get them bulked up quick, this method worked well for mine.
Cheers Dave
My angels went from dime size to breeders in about 7 months. I feed them 3 times a day. A mixture of Omega one veggie flakes, Omega one Color flakes, Hikari cichlid staple pellets, Hikari Cichlid gold pellets, Hikari frozen blood worms, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and daphnia. I try to mix it up a bit not giveing them the same thing two days in a row. Every once in a while I'll give them live brine shrimp, Convict fry, or feeder guppies. All of which I raise by myself to keep the chances of introducing something into the tank. I also just started using cyclop-eeze and they seem to love it. I used to give them blackworms until I got a bad batch and lost a 6 angels and 6 discus. That's the main reason the only live food they get I breed.
kool sumone put a post on this subject - was going to meself until noticed it!!

Omega seems to be the best food out there IMO, check their web site, they use the best ingredients!
