not shure. it dosent have a name on it and its some cheep hang on back heater. it actualy hangs on the edg of the tank. never seen one like that before. i even looks cheep.
Same here in singapore. There're some lousy brands which target those who wanna get something cheap and doesn't wanna spend on their fish. Ended up, they killed them due to the malfuntcion of the heaters.

Cant ever get cheap with heaters. There are online stores out there that sell heaters for less than 20 clams

I never believe in cheap heaters or pumps. You're never know for they may cause big damages in our tanks.

I'm actually using one of those hang on the tank heaters on my 12 gallon. It came with the tank, so I didn't think anything about it.
I think I'm going to buy a new one when I get out of work tomorrow. I really don't want to risk losing any of my fish.
Thanks for the warning, btw.

Try to get trusted brands. Although they cost abit more, but it's worth the investment.:)

Speaking of trustes brands. Even those can't be trusted. My friend had a visitherm heater in one of his water containers for aging water. And the heater glass cracked and popped. Usually when this happens it totally kills and shuts the heater. But for some reason it kept running and getting hotter until it melted the plastic tub from underwater and leaked all the water in my friends garage. Only reaso he found out was the smell of melting plastic afer all the water had drained out of the container.

The heater I'm using is made by Aquatic Gardens, I was under the impression this was a pretty respectable company.
What brand(s) do you recommend?

I use a won brother titanium heater. I use a 300w on my 150g. Hopefully not enough to cook my fish if its gets bumped on all day.
Now that its summer, I turn all my heaters way down to 70deg. the tanks stay at room temp 75deg. or so..
Ever stick your hand in the tank and get zapped from a broken heater..? it tingles..
