hahahahaha you do know a skyline not 'shyline' would beat all those cars in most areas of racing Just because they are worth more dose not necessarily mean they are a better 'mans' car a 'Mans' car is not determined by its leather interior its Italian design its light weight carbon fiber chassie but by its power its sound its size.
But if you are looking for a show car you cant go past a dodge viper a monster in its own right and covers most areas of what is detimermid a 'Mans' car.

lol i no someone beat me to it but why the hell would anyone buy a corvette over a skyline? a slightly modded skyline is better acceleration, faster top speed, better looking, better handling and there real nice to sit in unlike the plastic pallace that is a corvette.

Wow i have yet to see a moded skyline beat a corvette don't get me wrong skyline's a qwick little cars but there no vette. Corvettes are a mans car a cross between muscle car and sports car.... I would never mess with the paint of a lambo or Ferrari, they look good the way they are.

A skyline would be more fitting for an aro, because it's and Asian car with an Asian fish, and it looks good when modded.

Who mods a lambo? i wouldn't touch the body of one if i had one, maybe some engine upgrades but thats about it.

But anyways, back on topic,

i wasn't saying you should should get a viper just saying it would suit a Mfk sponsor car more than a Lamborghini and a corvette which is what Eric was saying.

Import companies could easily make a fast N/A car. Their logic is this:

FI a lower displacement engine, reliable, better gas mileage, and more importantly a hell of a lot cheaper. Barely anybody is out looking to buy 400hp cars (I am lol).

I'm a die-hard American Muscle fan, the first car I bought was a 1990 Corvette Convertible. I picked up an 03 350Z when I got out of tech school. I had more fun modding that car than I EVER did with my 'Vette. I traded my Z in about 3 months ago for a brand new Dodge Ram. My next car that I'm picking up will be a C5 Z06.

Basically what I'm saying is, you shouldnt be so closed minded when it comes to imported cars. Also, the term "Ricer" is used about an individual, not a car.

As for the GTR comment, that badboy ran a 7:29 at the 'ring, BONE stock. Only 3 seconds slower than the Blown LS9 ZR1, and 7 seconds slower than an ACR Viper, with suspension and aero mods.

Now, lets compare prices, shall we???

anyone can make a car fast it takes money and parts the said port is your "imports" took nearly 6 decades more than the Americans and euros to do it... the new skyline is garbage.... no heritage behind em so u had a Z that's great but making one or 2 cars that sound good out of a bunch isn't an accomplishment.... yes the Z is a nice car I will agree.. that and the 240sx I like but u get these hilarious Honda acura owners and even evo owners that get there ass ripped open once my car starts moving... maybe I'm wrong for generalizing my statement however can't argue with legends the fords the Chevys the dodge the icons of racing... ask any youngster there dream ride they'll say evo or skyline.. mines a 71 Boss 429....

I would think if MFK were to do a site car, it should be a Tiburon. It's more or less the only fish named car out there.

Maybe all car guys on the site should just add the logo to there own race cars, and be proud of the work they've put into them. (And then have an annual MFK track day somewhere.)

I just want to say that this thread has gotten my mind going. I also build models as a hobby a long with the fish and other stuff. I'm looking at a 1969 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 and I want to get a decal program so i can make my own decals to put on cars. I think making it with MFK markings would be awesome.

Really? Because my dream car is a '69 Dodge Charger painted like the General Lee (Dukes of Hazard car). Evos are pretty nice though.

I don't know man. I've been a Ford guy for my entire driving life and frankly, I'm getting sick of fixing them. I love my F150's but there's always something going wrong with them. Then there's my fox body (first car-still own it) I love that car, but when I was building it, there were all these year specific parts like bell housings and so on... Chevy doesn't have that problem. Every other bolt in the thing was metric, the rest were english, and I bought the car from the original owner(my then 60 something year old grandmother), this thing was a factory as it gets. Why couldn't Ford just pick one or the other and go with it?

Through college I drove an S-10, bought it for 1200, lasted 4.5 years before the body started falling apart. Ran like a top to the day it was crushed, never even burned oil. I replaced a water pump and heater core the whole time I owned it. Best vehicle ever. All of my fords have either taken a frustrating amount of time or money to keep on the road.

I might switch after I'm done with the F-150 I have now. (I'll always keep my car.)

My car has been good to me, but I built it by hand. Like I said there's just a lot of weird things that ford did over the years. Chevy parts are interchangeable, hook up a 60's engine to a 90's tranny and they bolt up, not ford's. You need year specific parts... and so on.

I love Ford and drive ford, but sometimes I wish I spent less time with a wrench in my hand.

Used to have a ford and you couldnt even change the break pads without special tools. and that should be a simple job. ill never own one again unless its a mustang or a gt (which are prettymuch all ford has).

Yup. The hard part would be getting it to aus. Well not really hard but a little on the pocket.

I would think if MFK were to do a site car, it should be a Tiburon. It's more or less the only fish named car out there.

Maybe all car guys on the site should just add the logo to there own race cars, and be proud of the work they've put into them. (And then have an annual MFK track day somewhere.)

It will happen. I'm not sure if I'll be at the Feb race in Texas due to plan changes today. But it will be sporting black Monsterfishkeepers.com across both sides of the lower door panals when it hits the track. Car is also going to the national Ford party/show/race in April and hoping to be in the Mustang's Across America drive if I get free from work.
BTW - This is on the Roush, not the Mach 1.

Wow i have yet to see a moded skyline beat a corvette don't get me wrong skyline's a qwick little cars but there no vette. Corvettes are a mans car a cross between muscle car and sports car.... Skylines are for 110 pound kids who can't afford a nice car.... but i am really looking forward to seeing your design on what ever car you do buy.


you must be on something. A corvette Z06 will run you near $50,000
a skyline from Japan rightside drive will cost $30,000 but to ship and do all neccessary paperwork it will cost more than that z06. I've only done a few drag cars. I learned quickly that road course/open track cars (like this one) take more know how and a much more fun in the long run. I'd rather spend all afternoon running full out for three or four 20 min sessions rather than spend all afternoon waiting line to make four or five 11 second passes down the quarter mile.

I have built a supercharged Explorer. That was a fun little truck to play with.

they are about fuel economy, and also the government limited their cars to only have 280hp stock.

"limited" meaning restricted via ECU/fueling/airflow. cars sold outside of japan are not under the "rule" and thus will find different engine configs/spec. In any case the guideline was not in writting as i understood, rather a gentleman's agreement between car makers and govt. The guideline is no longer enforced.
