Those are some very nice calvus and comps there. My brother's first cichlids were these and they were very nice to keep. Reminds me of the old days back when we kept them. Now I really want to get them again and raise them despite their slow growth. Thanks for sharing. :)

How long have you had him (the 4 incher)? Just wondering how long it takes them to get to that size. I have had my calvus about 4 months or so and they have grown in that time but now a huge amount. He is a stunner...well, they all are but he just looks awesome. Mine are only about 2". I have a black and a white calvus and then gold head and lufubu red comps...They are only about an inch.

i've had my 4 incher for about a year and a half now, but i've had him since he was only about a half in. He has survived 2 moves and when my wife took the decor out of the tank to move, I thought he was gone for good . he sat in the bottom of the bucket for about a half hour until i got home. Yet i still believe (from past experiences) that this is a normal rate of growth. After they hit 2 in. i usually notice a great increase in growth rate. Hope this helps.

Cool...I am going to say my calvus have probably grown an inch in that 4 months...I hope they grow good and look as awesome as yours.

Thank You, I'm sure they will, just give them time. i've never been let down by any of my altos, although my patience has been more than tested. Good Luck!

Here's a couple pics...He is just a little guy about inch, inch and a quarter or so....He is one of my favs and can't wait to see him grow. I also have some gold head comps and even thoguh similar at this size I can always pick him out.
