The LFS has a channel cat for sale. What kind of peramiters does it need to live? I would like to put it in a pond. Do you folks think it would be okay in Eastern Washington?

They live in Montana and N.Dakota so as long as you can keep a couple Ice free areas during the winter it should be no problem. If your pond freezes completely over they can suffocate and if it freezes all the way down to the bottom you will have fishcicles, it would be best if the pond had atleast one area several feet deep.

FYI your channel will also probably eat all the other fish in the pond (eventually)

Yeah, I would make it at least 4ft deep, they are native in Michigan waters also, shouldn't be a problem!
