Just went to the LPS got a 12-13" black devil cat for $40. He was in a 20 gal and a little scared up. The guy there said someone traded him in and that the scars were from a bunch of rocks that had fallen on him. The scars arent that bad and i think that they will heal up. Hes nice and fat so hes definately healthy. Right now i divided off a 2x2 section of my tank for him. Anyone know what these guys like to eat. I think he developed an appetite for blood parrots because there were some small ones in there and hes awefully fat.

hemibagrus wyckii (mystus wyckii). it will kill everything you have. very cool fish. i want one. just don't have the room at the moment. $40. is a real bargain also. usually don't see them that cheap.

This is one of those "1 fish to a tank" species. What it can't eat it'll outright kill. Big cat that will grow to 28".

Good pickup. Too bad that they can't go with anything else. I also want one as well but don't have the room at the moment either.

We have 3 of those here in the city that have been 4 sale for almost a year now, no one wants them because they cannot go with anything. And from seeing them on a weekly basis as all 3 have their own 90 gallon tank, they just sit there doing nothing in the corner. Very boring fish IMO and they look just like a Marbled PIM, just Black. And at least the Marbled Pim can go with other fish, my 2 footer lives with 3 inch fish and never bothers them.

Either way $40 is a bargin, the 3 we have are going for $80 per fish, and they are a bout 10-12 inchs now.
