I have two stingrays. My motoro is very active and always swimming. The other hardly moves unless hes hungry. He eats just as much as the other, but hardly moves... Over the past few months he has gotten very fat (ie his feet are very thick and hes bulgy... Is this normal or should be worried. The other dosnt look like this at all...

I tried to take a photo, but my camera phone isnt good enough to show the thickness of his fins. He would only eat live food when i got him, now he will eat frozen silver sides and krill.

maybe the other one is too skinny and the fat one is normal?
can you see hip bones on the skinny one?

The tank temp is at 78. The healthy looking ray is fat (cant see pelvic bone) Ive been feeding them once a day but have got to once every 2-3 now..
why would you starve a healthy ray
your tank is a little cool i would starve it... ive had motoros that never move and some that go nuts all over the tank..

Is his underbelly irritated? (red or scraped up?) looks like he is holding himself up - nice looking ray though, how long have you had it?

Looks like a hybrid of some sort. I had a ray do this, it over ate one night and swelled up like your is. She returned to normal size the next day though. Took a few days before she would eat again. Have you noticed it pooing? Could be a blockage?

His underside looked normal the last time he swam up the glass (yesterday).
