I have read and heared many times that you can turn just a normal pleco into a brackish... I want to know everyones thoughts about this, because i tried it once, and well, now im down one pleco, let me know what you think.

plecos are indigenous to south american rivers I believe. They experience absolutely no contact with salt whatsoever.
Don't add salt with plecos.

I have never tryed it but there is only one way to find out.
It can be done but should not. It takes a couple of weeks and will reduce the pleco's resistance to disease as well as seriously reduce it's life expectancy. There was a letter about it last year sometime in TFH
