Been busy with life in general and work. Had an opportunity this weekend to grab a few photos. I also have some "fresh fish" to photograph. Anyone want to take a shot at ID'ing the new guy? They're a little tattered right now from the pond...and as you can see...a little shy. GMFISHNUT came to visit this weekend with his son. George...you are disqualified from guessing. LOL

Here's the Zonatum all "puffed up".

http://www.aquamojo.com/Gutty/Zonatum-566.jpg

Here's his toady little buddy. You can see how torn up this little guy is. On the bright side, he wasn't eaten like all of his other brothers and sisters. LOL The Zonatum is getting a little more impatient with his tank presence. He might still end up as a "tasty snack".

http://www.aquamojo.com/sysnspilum/Synspilum-392b.jpg

Here's what he's supposed to look like. His dad...in a little better shape.

http://www.aquamojo.com/sysnspilum/Synspilum-391b.jpg

I separated the Managuense with a complete divider. Here's the male:

http://www.aquamojo.com/managuense/Hondo-Manaquense-1110b.jpg

They were getting a little tattered...plus I have more Managuense fry than I know what to do. But the divider just doesn't stop mother nature. The female laid eggs and the male did his job. This is the only time that the myth about getting pregnant in a swimming pool" holds any water. LOL

Here's mom and the eggs...

...and here's her attitude. I have about a dozen photos with this similar pose.

One shot of the psycho Pearsei. I was able to show George just how crazy da beyatch can be. LOL She just doesn't like people poking at her tank.

And a final shot of the Breidohri.

LOL Are you sure???

Nope. My male is in breeding color and looks like that. Red on the lower head, yellow/tan body. Color looks the same. To may barrs for a chancho unless it is stressed.

I will stick with Hog?

The fish DID just get moved from the pond to a tank. First time they have had an "open window to the world". SO the fish is definitely stressed.

Cookie...good guess, but nope. ;)

I was kind of wondering maybe chancho too, but how about Costa Rican Red Face?

Aquamojo

I thought I would stump the cheaters by labeling the photo file as Chancho. It is in fact an F0 Hog. Congrats you hosers. :D

I pulled a trio out of the pond. One of them was beaten...so back in the pond. I think there is a larger male in the pond still. Anyway it will take a while until these two calm down and come out for photos. Plus they are a little tattered. That happened from the stress of the move from the pond to the tank. George saw this fish when he came to the house. He can attest to her condition then. No problem...just some peripheral fin loss.

The hogas are rough on each other, I started with 12 one inch fish and they have now widdled themselves down to a stable trio, male from the pond. Ken

It's amazing with the color range of these guys. Remember Lil Mo, Ken? We pulled this guy out of an old tire in Teguchagalpa, Honduras.

Hey MO, now that I've bred them, Lil Mo was a female in breeding color, most likely mom to all these we have today. Ken

Oh well, just keep us updated. That's one of the amphilophus I've been waiting to keep. I'm about to let my saggitae now that I've bred them a few times. The male is just too mean for me. I'm honestly growing out a pair of barred midas to replace them. :screwy:
