I'm building a pond at work, just to throw some small koi in, for the summer.

I'm working with like 4x4 or 5x5.

What's a good height?...

I was thinking 12-18, but maybe more?...

What pond filters do you guys sugggest I order to sell?..

Which I would take off the shelf to use IN the pond.:)

The koi might carp about being "thrown." ;)

You might want to check out the pond filter selection at Drs. Foster and Smith's. Their descriptions are very user friendly and should enable beginners and experts alike to select a pond filter. Here's an example of a series of simple pond filters at that site:

You'll have to purchase a pump that's sized according to your pond size, which will be around 200-400 gallons (4 x 4 x 2 = 240 gallons/5 x 5 x 2 = 375 gallons). Hope this helps!

Smallest pond I ever kept was an 8'x16" that was 18" at one end and 36" at the other. No pump, no filter. It was built on the site of an old spring house and was just a sand bottomed rocklined hole in the ground that produced 15-20 gals a minute at about 58degrees f year round. I kept crawdads, cutthroat, mottled sculpin, madtoms, and stonerollers. I don't think this helps you, sorry.

I mean I put one together at CrapSmart also.

It's pretty easy just doing partial water changes every other day.

It's just for the summer season.

we work with a contractor
to build any size ponds
