Do you think the insides and bottom are flat and smooth?

Seems like a great deal for a BIG indoor pond!

Great find! It does not say rubbermaid for the 1000 gallon though, it says farmaster. I am not familiar with them... good, bad, or indifferent.

Tough high-density polyethylene - AKA. 'Rubbermaid'..

Would be cool if those work! But DAMN, what do you think shipping would be on a 1000g pool? ?!?!

I am seriously eye balling the 350 gallon 6x2. Do you guys think that would be good for a pair of motoros or leos (I hope this guy isnt BSing me on the leos but that is a different story) for life?

Edit: the tank is round for those that did not know.

shoot, here's the one that I want (or maybe 10 of them LOL)

3' Wide x 2' Deep x 10' Long

385 gallons

121 lbs.

177.60

that was under the Round End galvanized stock tank. I'd put in a pond liner just to be safe and there's a super cheap huge growout pond. that'd be awesome for a pair of dovii. :grinyes:

You are out of control! :grinyes: :lol2:

I am planning on writing an information section for XoticAquatix.com, showing designs and purchasing plans for ponds such as this. It will give my customers the knowledge they need to have the ability to house larger fish, without having to purchase an expensive monster tank. :naughty:

Yeah, I am already playing with ideas for a water feature for the corner of a yard, partly dug in so the edge benches would be at 18" tall, consisting of a water fall, 2 plant troughs with ripple boards for return flow, a 1,000 gallon main pond, a 50 g (maybe more) filterbox, and a 2,500 gph pump. the space around the troughs and pond would be filled with gravel and garden soil for a fern, iris, and moss garden, and maybe a bonsai japanese maple.
Maybe for goldfish, stonerollers, weather loaches, and giesha girls.

Hey guys I have one of the 1000 gallon models, I bought it for $225 at a farm supply store. A couple of things to consider...........

1. NO WAY its ever going to fit in a door. Not even a double sliding door.

2. It has a plug at the bottom edge with an O-Ring. I have had to replace this plug three or four times in the last two years. They dry out and crack. The water does NOT come rushing out but it leaks enough that I would not want it in my house. The last one I put on I used silicone on the threads and it has held for almost 4 months. But I dont think its a permanent fix.

3. They are HEAVY! You need a full size pick-up with a rack and at least three guys to help load and unload it at home.

Other than these three points these things are great. I was able to cut two holes on the side of mine for filter flow and return. I use a "cheapie" pool sand pump from Wal-Mart ($99) and have had channel cats and a large mouth bass in it since I got it!

Im going through all the old pics on my computer but I cant find a pic. :( I no longer own a digital camera.

Give me a while to sort through my picture CD's im sure that i can find a pic.

Funny, this is the first time I have ever wandered into this section of the forum. I never imagined someone would want to use a cattle troff as an indoor pond! LOL!

I could not decide which (outdoor or indoor) section to copy this into. I am thinking it and a couple 150s would make a great water feature in the back yard, dug in about a foot, surrounded by 2x8 walls (capped with a bench) backfill for a moss garden.
Some of the smaller ovals like the 300g would be great indoors and the price is nice but I think to get shipping quotes you need to Email them.

Damn!!! Thats cheap! You could also cut the shipping out and find a Tractor Supply Company store near you and pick it up yourself. If you go to the website, it has a search to find the store nearest to you. There are a bunch of them so there should be one close to you.

wow, And it's even made out of really durable plastic! I have a kayak made out of the same thing that the pond is made out of. Polyethylene is very tough, and it wont crack.

If it only weighs 112lbs for the 1000 gallon pond and its way to big to come on a normal ups or anything like that so your gonna pay shipping for a semi truck to ship it. I know when I ordered my 240 it came by freight truck and was $380 for a 600lbs shipping weight so I would think that you wouldn't be spending more then about $200-250 guestimate ~Trent

I am wondering if theres a way that the tank can have a porthole cut on the side and an acrylic window inserted? I know that many skyscraper windows are simply stuck on with a hydraulic sealant. Might be very costly and difficult with a round sided tank but I also noticed some flat sided tanks as well. Just a thought...
