For those who are using Tahitian sand. How many pounds of it do I need to properly fill up a 85 gallon tank (62"long, 16" wide)? I want it to be atleast 2" tall. I've used pool filter and playground sand in the past and I'm not sure if Tahitian sand weighs different. I'd have to order online, so I want to make sure I order the right amount.

thats going to get expencive quick... somewhere around 80lbs...

I'm looking at 95 bucks out the door if I need 80 pounds. :screwy: Any Bay Area folks know of any local places that sell Tahitian sand?

FWIW, 3M color quarts is MUCH cheaper. I can get 100lbs of S grade for $25 a bag and T grade for $20.

There's a link to a Yahoo! store around here that offers "free" shipping, but I think they charge about $30/bag.
