2 silver aros instead of 1

Helo, I've got a question regarding my 6year old 20" silver aro. It lives seemingly happy ina 225g tank with some smaller bottom dwellers. I've noticed in the last few months it's appetite has decreased dramatically. I've always fed it large dry krill and floating cichlid pellets. Now even if I give it live feeder fish it takes a week or more for 6 feeders to disappear.
I'm wondering if intoducing a second similar size silver aro would add excitement and thus appetite or would it become territorial and agreesive and thus expensive killing the other aro. If anyone out there has had a single aro living a long time and successfully introduced a second aro, I'd love to read about your experience. Thank you.

^ i believe they'd fight, I don't know about silvers to well, but I've read they fight with 2, especially when one is en situ for a long time and another is introduced.

6 yrs old and only 20"? something is up there...2 will fight 3 or more dissipates aggro...
6yr old will probably tolerate nothing of the sort though...

As previously stated, a 6 yo silver that is only 20" is not the norm. There is only about a 33% chance of the two silvers cohabitating peacefully. Even if it does work the new aro will soon outgrow your existing aro. It will likely grow to the extent that you would need to move it to a larger tank.

I would suggest against the additional silver aro.

if u trying to put 2 silvers together u should just put a divider in middle so they can see each other then remove it after a few days...space might b a problem ..but thats how my homie does it at his lfs when ppl bring their aros back because they couldnt house it

thanks for the helpful info. I'll just experiment with different kinds of food and see where that leads. By the way the reason my aro is about 20" now is that it lived in 75g community tank (for reasons of limited funds) up until about 6 mos ago.

if you are lucky you can do 2 but they have to be around the same size. But one thing i don't get is a 6 yr old silver that is only 20 in. can we get pic and also close up on the head.

1. Theres part of your problem. Don't keep the fish if you cant give it a proper home.
2. Don't feed feeders, too many risks, try mealworms and crickets, they usually wont ignore those.

Unfortunately as far as posting pics goes, I'm regretably not that techno savvy. I'm sure its quite simple. I tried several times without sucess. I'll try again later with more patience. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
