This is my common pleco Shamu. I got him when he was 2" long. He is currently pushing 16". He is kept with my breeder angelfish, and they love him. He is not shy at all, and loves the camera. I got a pic of his tummy while he was swimming, so I will just post that pic as well. He eats tons of cichlid pellets ( loves them), algae wafers, flake food, and whatever food is left on the bottom of the tank. Excellent cleaner. Let me know what you think of him. The pics are not very good, he is grayish brown with white, especially on his belly.

Yep. Well, I named for Shamu when I got him because he was so little, and I thought it was funny, but now he fits his name.

He is almost 2 years old. He grew very fast until he reached about 10", then he started growing about 1/4-1/2" every month.

Wow, mine are older than that and 6.5 & 7" respectively. What a hog yours is for that age.

Hi, I think your Pleco is this - http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=302 I may be wrong but he doesn't look like an ordinary type of common. He has very nice markings. :)

Thanks. His patterns look just like the pleco in the pic, but he is more of a gray than the tan color.

i find it hard to believe a common would look so cool!!!!! maybe you have a hybrid..... which would make it kind of an uncommon pleco :)
