my female cuban has paired up with my electric blue gene jack male. Lol. wonder if it's possible to get electric blue cubans, that would be awesome. probably wouldn't happen though. anybody else have any thing like this happen?

Won't work but I bet if you try some of the offspring with a EBJD you may get some blue cuban looking fry... lol...

It's not possible as elb genes are recessive therefore both parents need to carry the genes to make it happen. I would assume it would take many generations of breeding to bring the gene out in a hybrid.

it would be cool though!

my poor little female EBG has been pushed into a corner as these 2 continue to court LOL. I may just take the cuban out so the JD can pair up again.

elbjd x elbjd does not give you elbjd is will gove you normal jack dempseys with elb genes.

the pair is proven and gives 50% Electric Blue fry.

it is worth a shot. i haven't heard of anyone actually trying to cross ebjd or bgjd. alot of people say it won't work. i would try and see for myself. that would be a very nice looking fish if it worked. even if it does take two generations, it would still be worth it.

I would love to get my hands on some ebjd that comes out of parents that are the gene carriers and normal looking.Do the fry that are ebjd look normal and dont have the deformed look that most ebjd have.
