I received this guy from with a free Craigslist tank - he's been living in his cave for 6 months now (I've never seen him outside of the vase). Really hard for me to get a pic of him, he's somewhat large, I'd say approximately 5-6in, although it's difficult to tell.

Sorry for the image quality.

I'd also like to get a value estimate, if anyone can positively ID him.

Thank you!

Agamyxis pectifrons? Doesn't look like a pleco to me. If not, I'll move this to Catfish forum.

Might want to make that move now lupin. Def A pectifrons. Cute little boogers. 5in max. Like to hide.

thanks for info - I had no idea he wasn't a Pleco.

I did a google search and came back with Agamyxis PectINifrons instead of Pectifrons, which is correct?

Also, this fish probably needs a better environment than I'm able to give it. How much is he worth to buyers?

A. pectinifrons. And probably like 5 bucks. That's what i would pay at least. They are relatively common, so they won't fetch a high price.

Agreed, i paid 4 for mine. Why cant you provide them a good home? There super simple, they eat everything and they dont require anything special.. Why not?
