thats what i thought also as it grew bigger.. but i dont see a 2nd row of teeth that gators normally have....

sweet!!! .... i wanted a gator initially.. as there rare to get over here and not a common site at all
thanks guys im stoked now :)
his got a great personality .. when he sees me walking to the tank he floats to his normal feeding spot waiting for food and he will eat anything... lets me pet him for the moment .. :)

definitely an alligator gar. you will see the second (prominent row, as all gars have a secondary row) row of teeth in the upper jaw if you open them up...will be quite clear--

In the process of planning a 8x3x3 tank to be built and cycled in the next 4 months and an area in the back yard for a pond once i figure out a patch i can use. The gars already had a go at the aro (forgot to feed him one night..fell alseep) so they will be split very soon as a friends is donating another tank for me to use whilst the tank is getting built. :)

not really much use upgrading to a 8x3x3 if you are intending to keep him for life though. might as well start digging that pond we all keep talking about...:D
