I have a 55g tank but its a black background. The background cannot be taken off. Is it possible to put a "colorful" background INSIDE the tank? If i put it behind the tank you will not be able to see it because it is naturally black.

A few pics(sorry for the blurry'ness):

I dont know about the background being able to be put into the water....maybe the black background thing is just a myth....I dont know what to say...is the flowerhorn alone in the 55 gal?

the black backround thing is not a myth. dark gravel is just as bad if not worse. i have tried it just to see. their skin gets darker so you can't see their real colors. on the fish i tried, she also had her bars showing the whole time. it took about a day until she changed.

I've had the fish for about a month now and it only gained more color and even got more "pearly". the only time it gets darkish is when i do a water change..
