As we were dwelling on the subject of hybrids these past couple of days, come on, let us see them.
I have nothing against hybrids, some of the cool versions in the hobby have come through hybridization, or line breeding. Now, when people just pass them over as pure bred, that's when I'm a little :nilly:. In my opinion, there is no need for new species, or hybrids. Nature has a very nice way of coming out with new surprises, and all the man made species - line bred, hybrids and so on - usually have a common denominator: THE LACK OF A RICH GENE POOL.
Now, please post those pictures, keep it as little chit-chat as possible, this would help more new comers identify some of their fish as well, and learn how to see some major morphological differences between pure bred and hybrids.
here's mine he's the daddy of the tank (we call him blueberry lol) he has 6 girlfriends lol and soon I will put like 8 more females in there for him =)

Its a hybrid probaly created in the same manner as the dragon blood and strawberry. As far as it being the tangerine I'm not sure. I can see some one naming it that just by its colors but I've never heard of a tangerine.

Ya sorry I should of been more descriptive. The first 3 are the same fish. The german red I put on here cause I don't think he's a pure breed. Some one on MFK brought me to the attention on his body shape. He has a bigger forhead than a pure line breed Red. Don't think I'll ever find out what he's mixed with thou. So I guess that kinda makes him a hybrid.

Also purebreed is not a good term to label German reds. They are a line strain. Not a hybrid, but I am sure many today are, and not a natural occurring fish.

Here is what you get if you breed a OB peacock female (red and white with black blotches) with a Auloncara Stuartgranti male. I like them very much. THey are extremely colorful (white, orange, black and blue) and they act like a typical peacock. I have 4 of them. Hope you will excuse the messy glass condions
Edit: after viewing these pictures i will try to retake some new ones, these just dont do the fish justice. They are actually quite beautiful but unfortunetly my photo skills leave alot to be desired LOL.
