Mbu puffer question

the fish was bought 8 days ago. it has been doing great until today. he just sets on the bottom of the tank and does nothing. also he is breathing pretty heavy. should I be worried or is he just having a bad day. fish is 13 inches and in a 48x24x24 tank by himself. the water is in excellent condition. probably nothing, but i'll post again if he takes a real bad turn.

Breathing hard once in a while is normal from what I have seen. I would toss in a couple of mystery snails to "keep him company"? Just curious, what did you use to cycle your tank for the bio mass of an mbu?

did a couple water changes and the fish is doing fine. from what I'm learning these fish need a lot of water changes. tanks for replies though.
