I got this off of a guy who gave it to me since he thought it was sick. He just sits on the bottom or swim vertically against the glass, I guessing its a swim bladder problem. Does any one know what type of Mbuna this is? I think I know, but I wanted to make sure.

Interesting, if I had to guess I would say Pseudotropheus acei Ngara. I could be wrong though

i have to say it is metriaclima Callainos .. and from the looks of it.. i would say it has been bullied and beaten up more likely then swim bladder.. the tail is all shredded etc.. stress from this can make them lathergic and just linger there.. i have seen many in worse condition recover so i hope for the best for this guy..

After looking at some google images I think you guys are right, Pseudotropheus acei Ngara. Hopefully he will get better and make a full recovery, I like the big guy.

Thanks!

He is temporarily in a 20g hospital tank with a small Tramitichromis intermedius (http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1279)
that got beat up.

I got everything under control but I think we are going to wait on the grow out contest. We will discuss it at the next meeting on the 21st.

Where did you get that intermedius? Been looking for one of those.

Nice Ngara. How big is it? Looks older.

I got the intermedius with a trade I did with "reyes_52057" from The MCA from Iowa I think. They Just started breeding:headbang2

The acei is over 5". I have no idea how old he is, the guy that owned him bought him full grown and had only had him for around a year, I think he looks pretty old too.

I could sell a few of those intermedia fry when you have them available.

What else did you get from reyes?

BTW, Mike Dunagan is the proud new owner of this beauty, he is now living in a nice big 120 with Mbuna around his size.

No he is not... An hour after you left I came down from uploading those files. He was stripped of almost all of his scales. I removed him to the fishroom to heal... He did not make it. All the males in the tank attacked him while we were outside and working onthe computer.

On that note, I am selling off most of my mbuna.
