Finally got a somewhat satisfied set-up in the 180 and shots of the very hard to shoot Haplotaxodon.

Tank shot. Just after waterchange so all the fish were spooked to the bottom.

Haplotaxodon trifasciata. The pix are dark but it's a major step up from the big blurs I usually get of them.

There are 6 or so Syno. multipunctatus in there too but they're not very cooperative when it comes to photos lol.
I'm still waiting for the chance to snag a decent sized group of Benthochromis tricoti or some other type of featherfin to add some more color.

I know, my husband thinks he's a fish snob. :D

That is a beautiful setup and some very nice fish. I'll pick up some Tangs tomorrow. :D
Fixt. :grinyes:

I can't take the credit for anything but the pictures. The tank is my hubby's project and most of the fish belong to him. Comps are mine though. HA!

wow that gold head is love..
Thank you. I wish he was bigger but we're going on 4 years now and he's about 4" so I guess, as far as slow growing cichlids go, it could be worse.

Thanks for all the kind words folks!

18 tanks from 180 to 5.5. It's not easy with the space. We have 4 tanks in the livingroom, the rest are in the bigger bedroom. Danny and I have the smaller bedroom. And now we're trying to figure out a way to squeeze one last big tank in here...which begs the question...

...do we really need a couch? :nilly:
As for the smaller Geos, yes. I just got some pix up of the Gymno. sp. Yi. I ordered them from Ken Davis. If I knew you were interested we could have split shipping on an order. I do want to order from him again but I don't think it'll be too soon. I can let you know if I find any local though. :)

Thanks, just comps. The male is about 4" the female about 3.5". They spawn often but we haven't grown out any of the fry. Took long enough just to grow out the breeders!!! :D

We had some yellow calvus and liked them a lot but when downsize time came and the choice came between the yellow calvus and goldface comps, we chose to keep the comps.
You'd be surprised to. You might see fry in that brichardi tank, maybe never really grow them out though. 3.5" is when our comps and calvus started showing breeding behavior though so keep an eye out and get a calvus cave if you want to save those fry. Makes collecting them a lot easier!

Nice collection of tangs!
Thanks! I'll post pics of the other 2/3rds of the collection some other time. ;)
