Who can tell me if its male or female?

hard to say the sex. nice albino sen! welcome to the addiction! got my first last summer, now at 16 and counting :D

Congrats on your first! Your bichir still looks young to sex it, how long is it? I'm guessing under 6"
With only a glance I would say female but notice at the base of the tail where it is less opaque and the fin becomes thicker almost the the point that it matches the body color? That points to possibly the fish is maturing as male.
Time will tell for sure.

I agree with Hao on that its a male, the anal fin looks muscular, but still to small to be 100%

He is maybe 5 1/2 inches long at present, so hopefully still has a bit to grow. Coolest fish I've ever had!
