does anyone know the species name of the type of silver dollar with the vertical black line on it's side? I have searched a little thru google, and can't seem to pin down a picture/name

Yep, supossedly there are two variants of schomburgki , the ones with the red hook, and ones with the whitish blue hook.

black bars get as large as redhooks (16-17") but you almost never see them that big, this picture is from Venezuela

Mine are not that size... yet. ;)
They're about 6" long for now, and 1 year old. :thumbsup:
