Does anyone else have trouble feeding their wolf fish. I think mine will take something every few days at the most! He's probably 9 inches long and the most stuborn fish I've ever had next to the stingray I just got. I tried starving him for about a week so I could get him trained to come up and take the food from me as I dangled it at the top of the tank but that was a no go. Do you think I should just starve him longer? It will really help this way I'm not leaving food in his tank and constantly having to come back and remove it due to him not wanting to eat it.
You could starve him a little longer to see if he'll play ball but don't let him starve to death. Some fish just won't do what you want. Have you tried a large variety of things to feed him?
its diet is basically live fish, but can be trained to accept dead meat. I thought u've had it for a long time, how long have u been keeping it?
My wolf fish used to eat live fish only, after 2 months, it accepted peeled shrimps. My wolf doesn't come up to grab food nor rush toward to food aggressively. I can grab it with my hand, it won't bite me and always swim under the filter. But about 3-4 days ago, i moved the tank stand to a darker corner, it became aggressive; when i approach to the tank, it swims to me aggressively and open its mouth to bite me. In addition, my wolf doesn't hide anymore, it sits away from the drift wood, and waiting to be fed. I feed him shrimp once every two-three days because it doesn't eat everyday unless i use feeders.
mine is between 8 to 9 inches.
