Ran across these at a local fish store. tiny little place that does loads of flowerhorn imports. they have only gotten aro's in for the last couple months. said they came from malaysia on wednesday....anywho... I have seen a lot of arowana and a lot of jardini (just sold mine that was in wonderful shape) but i have never seen anything like this. It is honestly the shiniest, whitest aro I've ever seen and it's a jar (supposedly). Not a hint of gold, fins are blackish blue. I am totally amazed. they weren't too expensive and there was 4 maybe 5, thinking about getting them all and seeing what they turn into. got pics, not wonderful, nor do they do them justice, they are SHINY WHITE/SILVER,about 4" and like a said not even a hint of gold. my old jar was always gold. Anyone? Any comments or thoughts are extremely appreciated, i've never seen anything like this.....
edit: and it is standard lighting, no white substrate, etc...first thing i checked.

nah, don't think. got buddy's with lei's, headshape is wrong. i am pretty sure it's a jar just have never seen anything like them...

If they are leis-snag em up as fast as you can! But, they are nice, even if jars you should still buy them.

Yeah? I've noticed that lei's tails stick out like that... if that makes sense.
If they're as cool as you say they are then just buy them! It's still an arowana.

yeah that's kinda what's been going through my head all day. pics really don't do them justice....they're intense looking.

yeah but see i already have 3: 2 midsized, 1 big one (24"+silver, 14" WC silver, 16"+Black). would like one (maybe 2 being a jar and lei) more but if they turn out to be something crazy i would kick my own a$$...

Certainly looks quite shiny and pale. Depending on the price, it maybe worth buying to see how it develops. :)

dang i was pm'ing you and then i thought wait a sec i already have a jar... i would love to trade it but this jar i have now is working out really well and i invested a lil more then i wanted to to have to give him up for that one:)
edit... thanks for the offer though... if you can get ahold of any dats let me know. and if i can figure out this shipping thing i will post the odd balls they have at my LFS's.

grow one out in a 20 for a bit, that's what i'm probably gonna do :grinno:. i never ever see dats here, would love to have some more than my 1...

they had a silver at the LFS here they always have the silvers though... they had to mess with my head and have a 5" IT that someone had on hold for about a month.. i just ordered a NGT from them. when i first started going there they knew nothing about dats. now they see there is a market for them seeing i want one for $200 and have been bugging them to get one for me.

i am recieving a ocell bass that i ordered off this other guy and i will see then but first things first i didnt even think about this. i'll ask the LFS if they will ship it to you at cost. if not then i'll get you a quote.

i can kinda see it but there are no pink spots at all....it's pure silver...not disagreeing though..

What are the barbels doing? if theyre stiff and point straight down all of the time its a lei- if theyre soft looking and stick out or bend when they swim its probably a jar
