View Full Version : Polypterus journal
This will be an ongoing thread for me to post all my pictures. Posting them all in one place has been somthing I wanted to do for awhile.
I have been keeping bichirs since my first senegalus in 2003 and was hooked ever since. There are many polys that I would still like to own but probably not going to get anymore anytime soon.
I will be making a series of several large posts over the next couple weeks. They will first be in batches of the same specimen until I get caught up to date. Please forgive me in advance as I am bad at replying to questions... but I will do the best I can.
The first series of images I am posting are of my one and only Weeksii. She was the first non- senegalus poly that I aquired and still one of my favorites.
I downloaded them in order of date taken, but they did not post in order :( oh well.
More to come soon.
Next time will be P. Palmas Polli.
Here is the next batch... P.Palmas Polli.
Ok. Thats all for now.
Next time will be P. Mokelembembe :)

Nice Polys! What are you feeding them? They are nice and chubby.

thank you!
i feed them what i call bichir chow.
it is a mix of smelt, raw shrimp, and sinking carnivore pellets.
i also give beef heart and night crawlers for treats.

Very nice specimens! I remember drooling over your pics when I was still fairly new to bichirs.
