Here is my tank of small fish ive caught it is cold right now but i did manage to get this chub and have been keeping him for the last 1-2 weeks so far I feed him tropical fish flakes. I did have a cray but it escaped . We will see how long the chub lasts in there untill i catch or trap some other small natives. If not i might keep the chub. Oh and all thos small bugs that looked like mini hellgrammits turned into stoneflys :irked:.

Cool. I keep chubs and a mudskipper in a back room. Only a 10g but it's lasted for 5 months. Crawdads are escape artists. You better have a good lid.

i had the female in with the chub thats the one that escaped but i plan to catch some more crays when the creek gets a little warmer and unflooded so eventually i hope to find another female and keep it with one of the males in the cray only tank. And catch some darters and or a few daces for the creek tank.

looks good mst, i was actually thinking about doing something like this myself this summer. i know how big they all get, but for the preliminary list i'm thinking to get suckerfish(i catch juveniles all the time and used to use as feeders) and maybe dace if i can get them

hes trying to keep SMALL species, not smallmouth ;) they get big, are aggressive, territorial, and need large tanks

actually smallmouth fry are on my list not for this tank tho. My cray tank was supposed to be a smallmouth fry tank for like 2-5 fry but oh well.

you know that even 1 smb wont be able to live in 125 for life, right?

Make sure there's something heavy on top of something heavy on top of the lid... haha I've never had a chub that didn't go carpet-diving... back to the creek they'd go.
