I have 4 angels in one of my 400g planted tanks, very good fish. It is a shame people don't know a quality fish when it is right in front of their noses.

Maybe the title for this forum should be 'Predatory/Giant Cichlids'

I seem to remember people pushing the argument that some people consider different fish as monsters? If this guy likes angels, then I think that is great.

i like full grown jet black angels
thats it
all other angles looks bad
I used to buy little nickle sized ones @ 12 for $10, then grow them out til they paired and mated. Sold them @ $20-$30 a pair to my lfs. Took 6-8 months in a 55g long tank with heavy plantings and lots of live food. Made almost enough to support my fish habit

Do you work with those funny looking veil finned angels?
Veil finned fish just aren't my taste. Rediculously long finnage is a good way to ruin a perfectly fine ram, barb, tetra, angel or oscar.
Standard tails look perfect. Hard finding a nice black angel with standard finnage. ;)
Where's about are you located?

Try Altum Angels from Colombia or Venezuela, they grow to around 20 Inches tall.
Perhaps, tall enough to be monsters in their own right. They snack on jumbo cardinals at night.
It seems this thread is getting to be an Angel vs. Monster talk.
I keep both Angels and Monsters like Arowanas :D .

They can start laying eggs after only six months from free swimming stage. Most though gets their sexual maturity at eight months old.
Once they get started they lay eggs by the hundreds sometimes up to a thousand and as frequent as every 7 days.

Angelfish rule one of my fave fish.Love thoe black angels at the start of this thread real sharp looking
My altums would start paiping in around six months from nickel size, the bodies on the would be 3 1/2" or more. including fins they would be about 10" tall.

My Altums are just approaching 12 inches. They are not up to the challenge of a jumbo tetra yet but they have no problem gulping down feeder guppies. A zoo in Chicago have the bigger Altums in their tank.
My juvenile Altums look like these:
