So this is Highlander. He's getting comfortable in his tank and coloring up really well, not sure how old he is but he's growing like a weed and is about 4 inches long.

Anyone know where I could find him a solid female or two? I'd like to get them from someone where I can see the parents so I have a good idea of how the offspring will look (preferably comparable in size to him as well, I don't want them getting beat up).

If you want to try to keep them together all the time get at least 3 females,red empress are known for pushing the females really hard,and the male will probably still need some alone time sometimes to let the females rest.Mine having a vacation from his 3 girls right now as thier tank was just resealed.

Yeah I'd definitely get a minimum of 2, it's also why I want to get older females. He's a larger fish and I'd be worried putting some younger (small) females in with him.
