Heres my little ones- the black is about 12" and the leichardti is 7 or so inches. Percentage wise they are growing at a similar pace- when I got them 3 or 4 months ago the black was also about 1/3 bigger- they were about 8" and 5". The black is a more finicky eater- it wont even take earthworms! The lei is way more aggresive- even more agro than all the jars Ive had- and they had normal jar aggresion. The day I got them, as I was letting the lei out of its bag it was it was snapping at the other fish especially the poor black. Ill try to get my photo skills down better but Im still figuring out my camera
lol nice wanna sell me da lei? i want more arowanas =D

Why would you ask that if you just picked up some from Rich (and he has plenty more?)
So no more aggression issues with the Lei and the Black? What else is in the tank? Tanks size? Beautiful Black! From Rich?
That's all my questions....... for now.... sorry.

So no more aggression issues with the Lei and the Black?
The lei is still aggressive but only towards other fish that resemble him. When I got them I had a shoal of chalceus'- they took alot of hits- I was pretty nervous selling them but they were taking alot of active room up in the upper water column obviously the same as where the aros stay. For about a week he was nearly peaceful but has since evened back out. The problem now is the black is the closest resembelence to the lei. His whole world seems to revolve around the black, like theyll peacefully swim together all day long, but if the black shoots away quick the lei chases him down, and it looks like the longer the chase is, the greater the punishment, but weekly the black tires of it, then he unloads on the lei. for the next few days its calm. There is always at 1 missing scale or torn fin, no more and no less, they do more disagreeing than fighting- but it is often enough that I keep a running, cycled, empty tank just in case
What else is in the tank?
Ive got 4 ATs, 1 NTT, 2 regular senegals and 1 albino, 1 endli, a fei feng, and a giraffe cat- and theyre all under 6"
Tanks size?
60"x18"x24" I know they will outgrow it and I know aggresion will be less with a bigger tank, so Ive been keeping my eyes open for a pane of glass between 72" and 96"x24"x1/2"- unless a similar size wide tank falls in my lap that should hold them for good
Beautiful Black! From Rich?
Thanks and yes theyre both from my buddy Rich- wait a minute, are you trying to tell me that I have an ugly leichardti?:nono:
That's all my questions....... for now.... sorry.
No problemo- my pleasure

They can get 36"- I'd be lucky hitting 24"- As aggressive as he is I'd probably be even luckier if he only got 12"

Maybe you cant have arowanas in FL like you can in CA- but you dont have to wear a helmet on a motorcycle in FL :headbang2 and you have to wear them in CA
Thanks I try to take good care of them

Thanks- yeah I hope that they get more comfortable with each other instead of more agro as they age

Nice aros. was this Lei from Rich? If yes, was it from the December batch? Any close up pics. I want to see the sparkling dots on the Lei. I have my Lei with bichirs, discus, angels, and archers. The Lei only chases the archers and bichirs. He never bother the angels and discus. It must be the shape of the fish that the lei did not like.

Yes both of them are from Rich. I dont know what shipment they were from but I plan to go over this week- I can find out then.

The black just finished teaching the lei a lesson in manners, it looks like he wasnt being a very responsive student at first, but finally came around(at least for today) Ill get some closeups when his pride is feeling a bit better

I dont know because I have a bunch of polys that are all ignored by the lei- my jardinis on the other hand used to give the bichirs alot of crap. The dats, fei feng and giraffe cat are all ignored by the aros as well

Dude, i would seperate them. If you want to see your arowana grow up then take the saratoga out and stick it in another tank. saratoga= very agressive.
