they look different. A jardini looks like a jardini, and a leichardti looks different from a leichardti.

I don't think so but IMO they look significantly different. Type jardini or leichardti into google, or even into the search here on MFK and you'll see.
Jardini's have a more angled face and head, leichardti's have a softer looking face. Jardini's have pink spots on the tail and usually a slightly darker complexion as adults. Leichardtis have different patterns on the scales.
People seem to rate leichardtis highly, but I think a jardini looks better.

A leichardti's body shape appears more elongate due to not growing to a deep body shape as with jardini's and formosus'. And, even though it's dead, here's a pic to show the pink-dot pattern in the leichardtis:

A jardini is much more aggressive, too.

The differences are very easy to tell. It can be difficult when they a juvie though.
Have a look at this one, he is 12 inches. It looks a lot different to a jardini.

maybe the reason for that is jardinis are very common while leichardti is more rare . that is why the latter is a much sought after fish here in our country .

leicharti's whiskers point straight out where as jardini's are bent to the sides and jardini's have a more aggressive nature...
