i have asked you guys about moving my red bay snook 10" and my red pike 6" into a 50g tank temporarily from an 80g where they currently are with a breeding pair of jags male 10" and female 6" and a common pleco 13" that never comes out of his cave unless its completely dark in my entire room so im not to worried about the jags messing with the pleco but i am worried about the snook an pike. Most of you guys said it would be a bad idea to move the snook into a 50g because it is definitely not even near full grown an a 50 would be to small some of you guys said to do it being the fact of the jag breeder pair. im in a real tight spot here and dont know what to do. i am definitely gettin a 150g mid to late summer like around june- august so they wouldnt have to be in the 50 for long. please help i know ive kinda been anoying with this hole issue but i dont want to get rid of any of my fish because they mean alot to me . thanks again guys

not trying to be rude but whats the question? you are going to be getting a 150g this summer, try and get it now or sooner rather than later. if not try to find another tank, 75g or larger off craigslist or something else temporary large enough for the snook.

no problem hiimsean my fault the question was should i move them to the 50g temporairly until i can get the 150. the reason i cant get the 150 now is because i live with my parents yes you heard right, an i dont have any where to put the thing but i am moving out of my parents place into my new house the end of april so i dont want to get a 150 set it all up an then have to break it down an move it in a month.

if you are gettin between june and august the snook is 10 inches then he has a little room to turn around so id feed them every other day and slow down there growth until you get your 150.

separating them is better than keeping them together..that's for sure because the breeding pair of jags may not tolerate the other fish for much longer and they could easily kill the other 2..especially considering snooks aren't all that aggressive to begin with.

Simple solution. Move the 6" jaguar and any fry you may already have to the 50g tank.

That might work too...i'd still be concerned about the 10" male jag with the 10" snook. to be honest i'm surprised the jag pair haven't disposed of the other inhabitants already.

move the pair into the 50 gallon with them breeding they will not grow as fast aslong as they are breeding. keep the rest of your fish in the bigger tank. is it a 50 breeder 36" x 18"? or a 4' x 12" tank? either way if you are going to put a 10" fish in a smaller tank put the jags in there.

do snooks tend to grow faster compared to the jags or is it about the same
