Male or Female?

Can anyone tell me the gender of my calvus? they are pretty young..but someone might have a more educated guess than myself.

I basically got 4 calvus 2 gold head and 2 black for €40 so i couldn't resist! they seem wuite happy in the tank with little or no aggression. kinda hoping i picked up 2 pair which will possibly breed!

pic's are a bit iff'y...the 2 black calvus are quite shy...they've been through a lot this past week (re'housed twice i believe).

Too young to tell, but generally males will darken up faster, especially dominant ones.

Yeah venting will be your best bet aye.. as for a quick analysis on sexing mature Calvus.. I believe the females stay a tad bit smaller than the males..
