What Other fish, especially bottom dwellers do you think, or have you kept with cichlids and not had many problems with one picking on the other? All suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh I have a wide 150.

Synodontis catfish make good tank mates. There are several species though, some get big some stay around 6 inches.

School of Syno. Petracoli(sp) slow growers and stay small about 4". Bushy/Bristle nose pleco. They are not active during the day but due an excelent job clean algae off of glass at night.

I've seen common plecos kept with them but I stick with the synodontis cats.
Some people use tiger barbs as dithers, but theres no guarantee of their survival.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. After reading them and doing some more research , I have my LFS getting me some Synodontis Multipuntatus. My research says that they do well with cichlids and that they don't seem to be as nocturnal as some of the other species.

What about Royal plecos...can those work?

No on the Royal Pleco totally different water values and would hurt the fish in the long run..
Cool deal on the Syno Multipunctatus i have 6 of them in my 120gal Tang Community and i love it they all swim together and have bred with peacocks before, but now that there with Tangs they may never breed again unless i get a mouthbrooder for them..

How do BNs get along? I saw some 1.5" BNs and wanted to put them in my 55G mbuna tank to try but everything is well established in there and I don't want to risk killing them.
Will they work? My mbunas ranges from 1-3"

I have a pictus cat but to be honest the sun cats i rescued seem to be doing much better with the africans , they seem to be a tougher fish. YOu dont see them often, they are nocturnal and only come out when lights are off or at night. They can get large too. I have had mixed results with regular plecos, I had one that my africans killed (even though it was bigger than them and had been in the tank for a long time). I have one a foot long that was given to me last week, its got some shredded fins all ready. Not sure what i will do with it. Some people like to keep clown loaches for cleanup but keep in mind to quarenteen them for extended time before adding them into the tank, they are prone to ich when first brought home and being scaleless need special care if they develop it. Others i have heard like the bristle nose cats but i have heard because of their small size some frontosa have died when they think they can eat them and get them trapped in mouth/throat area.
