Basically, the time has come for my Malaysian Golden Jardini to go. As posted by Steve I have seen his aggression levels begin to rise in my African tank, and he's stressing my breeding stock out too much. I want to sell him but I do not know what kind of asking price I should ask for. I have some images, and I am estimating the size to be about 12-14 inches. I have had it a year plus, last Feb I bought it at 3 inches in size. It's living in my 180, eating bloodworm cubes, krill, and tilapia fillets, store bought.

I got him from a seller over in Newark NJ, whom I have no reason to doubt this is a Malaysian Jardini. The person is Malaysian, and I can speak that language as well, so I ensured he was what he said.

I intend for this to be a local pick up as well. At that size I am not comfortable to try to ship it. I am in North Central NJ. How do I figure what price is fair to ask?

lol get a really good picture please, and also if it really is one, better not answer any the door when the police comes.

also a normal jar at that size is will cost around 100-150.
it really depend on the local buyers, people with asian back ground would think these fishes are more valuable / desired then most other people

Ya.. it dont matter if they were raised in Malaysia..... Jardini is native to Australia and ONLY there.. :irked:

Ok thanks, because I didn't want to start out with an asking price that might offend anyone. Whoever he is importing from, they are comming from Malaysia, that much I am sure of, but ok, just as you have Arowana farms in Merah Hill there for Red Arowana, they aren't native to that either, understood and thank you.

As for the picture, hey I'm not a pro. Sorry that was the best I could get. It IS in an African cichlid tank sir/ma'am, so it's not like this Jar is going to sit still long. I have a 180 mixed tank of Haps, Mbuna, Peacocks, a Madagascar species, 1 Tangyangikan, and a couple Victorians. I've had my stock breeding very well over the last 3 years with little to no deaths. It's just an active tank, and I'm no picture taking pro. I try the best I can, so if you have any suggestions, that might be more helpful then assuming I know how to take great pictures.

Generally, I don't bother with pics often other then for if a fish gets sick or I usually just do clips. When I sell I just net out stock I'm selling and hit the groups at their places, trade/buy whatever. Nor with this economy, am I going to sink like 200 or 300 bucks, or more just for a cam to take pictures of the fish when I can use my phone to take small clips.

it's an austrailian jardini. no such thing as a malaysian golden jar.

the stores around here sell jars at that size for around $150-180...and they stay there for months. small 3"ers go for $50.

depends what the standard pricing and demand is over there. not everyone can afford to have a 180G+ tank in their house, especially for a hard to comm fish. you would probably need to sell for 50% or less of what your local fish store is selling.

Aeri,

There is maybe 1-2 stores in like a 30 mile radius of here that even carry them, so I think that is a plus.

its just reg jar,its very beautiful
