my gf orderd me a porcupine puffer for my bday, i currently have a green spotted puffer 4.5", a 2" sharpnose white spotted puffer. Would the porcupine pose a problem? my GSP is super nice and wouldnt harm a fly...well maybe a fly but hes never gone after another fish, and my little white spotted guy is timid and always zipping under rocks, but he will come up to the glass as stare right at you too...both will hand feed and my GSP will even let me pet his back...he seems to enjoy it haha...and those two get along just fine...just curious if they would pose a problem. Yes i am aware at how large the PP gets i have a 220 gallon lined up in 6 months which should be plenty of room. what do you think?

How large is your present tank? The 220 should work for the 3 of them. Be sure to QT the PP for at least a month.

Yes PP are SW. From what I have seen, PP tend to pick up diseases more easily than other fish. It would be a good idea to keep him in a tank alone for a bit. You wouldnt want to risk your other puffers.

Puffers can potentially come in from the wild with all sorts of diseases. You don't want to throw a bunch of chemicals into your main tank to treat him, plus he could possibly infect the entire tank & then it would have to remail fallow for 8 weeks. Best to treat him with hypo in a 20g QT for a month instead, to be sure to rid him of any parasites he may have brought with him. I think you need to do a ton more research before getting into this. Lots of great info at my forum.
