I recently bought a synodontis for $12, I saw a cool black cat with bright white spots all over it hiding under a rock and thought it was very cool and looked at the tank pricing, the store only had one price for a synodontis in that tank. I decided what the heck its pretty cool and for $12 never saw a synodontis that cool looking. I figured I will find out later how big it gets and buy it I have multiple tanks it can go in so size wouldn't be an issue.
There was another kind in the same tank as mine I found out later to be euptera.
When I tried to find pricing on angelicus I saw the fish place had it for $50. I think I bought a angelicus labled as euptera.

I will get some pics up, why are they so expensive? Just color? I am rather familiar with fish that should be $12 and when I saw that, I just had to pick it up! I think it was in the wrong tank, maybe they ordered one and just mixed up two names of synodonis, or maybe thought they sold it because they didn't see it under the rock!:) Regardless I love its spots, anyone know how big it gets, I read it can be a community fish, but can be aggressive too. Its just been fine so far, just seems to act kind of like a lazy pictus, haha
I will get some pics up soon. Its really neat looking! Has the tail of a green flash pleco, but the body of a snowball, but its a catfish!

I have two angelicus that are about 8 inches a piece. Mine never hide and I have many places for them to go. I have them in a 65 with haps.

Are they more of a brownish color as they get older? Good to here on size, sounds perfect for my 90 down the line.

Are you 100% its a synodontis? I bought an asian upsidedown cat labeled as synodontis. Its black with white spots on it too.

If it is angelicus that is a damn great price.

Sadly enough this isn't even my best find. Hapala Barb in a clown barb tank and a EBJD mislabled. Got both for a combined $10 a long while back. And people say to order online...:D
