This snake is very friendly. I held it for 7 hours straight(ride home) and it never gave me any problem.

I don't expect it to get that big, it's a male and they average 9-12 feet.

well dont count on it staying that size you never know
its like retics and burms some say males get only 13 but I have seen a 17 foot male that was only 2 or 3 years old

Male yelows top out at 8 feet. It's rare to find a female yellow over 12 feet. I have done my reaserch and I know what I'm doing.

Ok first of all, when I buy something, I know what I'm getting myself into and I wouldn't have bought it if i was going to donate it later on in life. Thats stupid and irresponcible.
I know it won't grow that large. Males are alot smaller then females, this is a proven fact.

Nice green.
Your also correct on male size. I have never seen a male green or yellow over 15 ft. If someone can prove otherwise I would love to see it.

Im glad you have researched and planned ahead to keep such an animal. Would you mind telling us what the future holds? Caging wise, water basing since theyre almost fully aquatic. Diet? Temps humidity? We would love to see progression updates 6 months 12 months 24 months etc etc etc... growth rates just to see; most anacondas dont make it to well capable keepers and usually perish rather easily. ;)

glad to see you got him. i was rooting for the green anaconda the whole time :) he looks great and i can't weight to see the new enclosure and to watch him grow.
it would probably be worth starting a breeding program of sorts to feed this guy. whats on the menu for now and do you have any future plans for it?
i don't think i would want to feed him pacu and rtc, first off they could be dangerous and rtc's have wicked spines. also when someone gets rid of a fish like that often times they haven't been liveing in the best water conditions for a long time. another thing to think of is that when people give away a large rtc they want him to go to a good home, just like a dog.

Right now I feed him rats. Everytime I open his cage he pops his head out of his hide and sees if I have any. So I slowly put my hand infront of his face for him to smell and he goes back into the hide.
I am not going to breed this snake. He is a pet and that's all their is to it. Not only is their a small demand for these things, I don't agree with the way most people keep them, I don't want the babies suffering.
As for the fish, I'm not sure if I can get any of the right species to feed it. Oh well, it likes its rats:)

Have you thought about hook training him? Instead of using your hand you tap him on the head with a hook and he know you are not feeding him. Will be much safer then using your hand when he is big.

I'm not using a hook because this snake gets to big and if I used a hook, I would break its ribs. For now, I just let him smell me, then he's fine.

You wont ever pick the snake up with the hook. It is just a training method that people use. They put a t-shirt or something on the hook to let the snake know you are there. Easier to start when little then big. Never did I say pick him up with the hook.
Great looking snake. Your right BIG difference in size between males and females . Think males are also calmer?
