Was over at Ray's last night to try to get some shots of his lents. They proved ot be a real challenge and I demand another session. :D

I'll let Ray name the fish since the names escape me and I still have some pics to process.

Ray, you've got to reduce the tannins in that water. It really discoloured the fish, lol.

Nicely done Gerry! The Oligosarchus is a mystery to me, he/she is one that I got in Uruguay (super happy that I brought them back), the color on it seems right :headbang2. As for the creni's, the Missioniera look pretty close on the color. The Lents are the ones with the color masked by the tannins in the water - they still look awesome, thanks for dropping in to shoot them. Next time we will have to plan it out and I will get the tanks in tip top shape for a photo shoot, they are still in recovery mode from two weeks of me being away (no water changes or other maintenance)

Those pikes in the last 2 photos are amazing, I wish I could add a pair to my collection.

Thanks, guys.

Ray, I think all it would take would be to filter the tank with carbon for a couple of hours.. And you're right about the tank with the lents being the one discoloured by tannins, not both tanks. :)

I got a few more pics to process. Be back shortly. :)

And to think I passed on a trio of lents 6 weeks ago!! :nilly:

Nicely done on the ones that are nearer the front of the tank, the colors are better! I have been running carbon on the tank (fresh last week!), that piece of wood has spent 15+ years in a tank and still leaches tannins!

Thanks, Ray. There is a distinct difference even when they're 6-8" back from the front of the tank.

You should rent out that piece of wood for anyone wanting to darken their water, lol. It works miracles.

And by the way folks, these pikes may look small but they're all of 8". :)

I still can't believe I passed on a trio of these.
