only 17 people have voted no...
MFK alone should be able to make it 90% no

Numbers are looking much better than this morning. The comments are really shedding some good light on the situation!
I feel sorry for those who think imports should be totally banned without analysing the consequences of that bill (perhaps their brains were just fried..nicest I can say).:shakehead

Looking better but the numbers should be rocked hard by now. This site probably has the highest membership numbers in the world for cichlids. LET'S SHOW IT!!!

If a mod thinks it would help the cause, I'd only take it as a compliment in trying to help out our true intentions.

Wolf, thanks a bunch! I just read your replies and grinned from ear to ear. So good to have the support of people like you. As a licenced taxidermist I often speak with our local DNR and I know the beaurocratic bull#### they have to deal with. I can only hope the "other" side reads comments like yours and reacts appropriately!

all these hr669 threads should be combined by a mod if you want to bump one bump the sticky one the moderators started that will be sent to congress!! not saying this one isnt just as good but there are already 4 or 5 diffrent threads on this.and if you sign the ones the mods started you know it will be taken care of properly

The problem is this bill needs lots of opposition if we want to keep it from being a law. More than one petition. We need members and hobbiest's to use every avenue possible to oppose this bill. From phone calls, to emails, to petitions, and to sites like govit.com. If we don't oppose this bill and make voices heard it could be the end of our hobby unless you're only into koi/goldfish.

a mod should really change this title... people probably just htink it is a repeat of the other ones

yes thats why i think they should be combined and put on the original one by the mod so its done as a group not as individuals!

yeah and over 400 have signed the petion on one from the mods and over 200 from the other mods if they were all put into one instead of now 12 diffrent ones think what could get done as a group !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one thing I thought of with this bill is that it appears it would affect many game bird hunters as well. pheasants for instance, are not native US fauna, and many bird hunters use non natives for training and club hunting. This also would affect Koi owners as well, which includes amny large corporations. John Deere for instance, I believe still have their Koi pond at their headquarters, which were gifts from Japan and hold a great deal of sentimental value for the company.
I think the more we think about this bill the further we are going to see the impact of this decision and its important to let your congressman know so they can use this in their arguments.
