A few shots taken friday of my friends (FastFish) group of four . absolutely stunning red spotting! Am hoping to get one soon since the female and biggest male are pairing off and getting feisty.

Not from TUIC ~ Infinate Aquatics in Cali had some last fall, Rich is a good guy to do biz with, good price + shipping!

Those are beautiful pikes Mtn Pike ... I just wish they had a better common name ... Malaria pike sounds awful!!

We've always disliked that name 'malaria pike' - brings to mind a diseased creature - UGH !! Iteperim as a locale sounds better since lacustris denotes the whole group.

The only possibly worse common name for a pike is 'cadaver pike' - which conjures up visions of zombies & rotting bodies, how delightful....

Itapemirim is correct spelling. just got April BelowWater list showing that way - think the Germans / Euopeans spell that place differently.

Glad to see that Rich's fish ended up being the correct species. The picture that he use to sell them made the fish look like it had brown spots instead of red.
