I have heard that you can slowly convert a freshwater silver tipped shark into a saltwater shark , is this true , if soo how?? and would that be a good idea if i have a blue damsel, and am planning to get a lion fish and a clown?? Also do you think a lion fish would be good for a 47 gallon tall???

i planned to stack my life rock up to almost the top of 47 gallon when i get it , and have coral with in it, if i do that do you think a lion is still optional since there wouldnt be as much room , i really want one though , some pictures of a close set up would be great!!!

For one it should be AT LEAST 75 gallons.
A Yellow dwarf lionfish should work though, not sure about with the catfish though..

Yellow dwarf.. sorry about the size..

The silver-tip can reach a foot or more and they are constantly swimming, they are pretty laid back, but when it comes to feeding time they can be voracious eaters and will eat until there stomach is very bloated. They are a great fish.

They're pretty docile. I'de think there wouldn't be too much to worry about as long as they have ample room for living.

if you got this 47 gallon tall from petsmart or petco or a chain retailer i would not bother trying the silvertip shark. the dimensions on the 47tall i am thinking of provide almost no surface area and by the same token, no bottom area meaning the silvertip will get huge and have very little room to swim around the bottom, hell have to swim up and down and it seems like that might spook a lionfish. youre welcome to try but i probably wouldnt.

as far as converting him to salt, i would put him in a cooler or bucket in freshwater and then get a piece of airline tubing. put a slight knot at one end and drop it in the bucket and put the other end in your sw tank and start syphoning tank water into the cooler/bucket. over a couple hours you should be ok i would think.
