i just got a 220 gallon and a 180 gallon. the 180 will be a sump for the 220 and another large tank im building. do to limited space i need to stack the tanks the 180 will be on the bottom and the 220 will be on the top the 180 needs to be 1 us foot off the ground and bothe tanks are 2 feet tall there needs to be a gap in between the two tanks so i can can get into the filtration. i was just looking for some help on the desighn and would this be possible never built a stand but im pretty good with this kinda stuff eny comments or sugestions would be awesome the tank will be a salt water set up by the way. thanx

if you can weld steel if not 4 by 4 and 2 buy 6

You can build a wooden stand rather easily. Just copy some of the other DIY stand designs from around the section. Your only difference would be some minor height adjustments.

my advice...overbuild, overbuild, overbuild! You can have to strong of stand :)

Yay its gana be pretty high that's what I was worried about the most. the twisting iv heard putting side panels helps with that?

I built a stand for my 125 where the top of the stand is 60". Tank sits on top of that. Built it out of 2x4s. No twisting at all. It hold pretty well.

I just build it. There's not much to building stands. I have build a few.
