What really saddens me is when I make my store rounds and ask the employees if they know about this bill,no one seems to know or they dont even want to listen when I try to tell them about it.

If this bill passes, the Peacock Bass will have to make the approved list. And someone will have to pay for an anaysis of potential invasiveness for them to even have a chance of being legal, and they would have to pay for each individual species.

you have to talk to the owner or something if i were some minimum wage jerkoff just working there till something better comes along (which almost all are) i wouldn't really care, unless i was a MFK to begin with, or like put a petition in the store in my experience people usually are pretty easy to get to sign something like this, and if you even get like 50 from each store just imagine

Any fish already in possession will be grandfathered in.

What do you mean when saying gandfathered in?
Any fish you have if the bill passes are legal, but no breeding or obtaining new specimens is allowed.

I agree.
The disadvantages far outway the advantages. I think Mr. Obama getting a new dog recently will help you guys a lot. I think now he will feel what we feel when we keep our fish.
Anyway if it does pass, no way will they be able to stop people breeding fish and selling em on.

This bill is nothing more than a way for some crooked politician somewhere to line his pockets. Someone will have to foot the bill on the analysis of all the species to determine if they could be considered invasive or not, and alot of that money will slip through the cracks as it does with other bogus laws right into the pockets of the people who proposed the law to begin with. I cant see this law getting passed, the pet industry is a big part of the economy and I couldnt imagine congress doing anything to negatively impact it at this time. People have been keeping fish here for a long time and very few of the species have ever caused an ecological disaster. If any. Most of the invasive species that have caused problems were not introduced by the pet trade, but rather the corporate giants and their huge cargo ships bringing in waters infested with things like Zebra Muscle and dumping them into the lakes. That is where better control needs to be.

Hmmmm...Let's see what could be more important,
Drugs, Gangs, Terrorist, Education, Border Issue, Building more hospitals and schools, etc...

If this gets through the bill will implicate other pet lovers. In this sense I suggest that the MFKers work closely with other group of hobbyists, eg; dogs, cats and birds lovers. Together the voice will be louder.
I can't imagine if the bill goes through and the other part of the world catches on like the way they sanction CITIES body. That sucks man!

Whether or not it passes is dependent on the constituents making their voice heard to prevent it. It's on us.

if the bill passes, any pet that is grandfathered in, or on the approved list it wouldn't be able to ship them to anywhere.
