Well, there is three species of angelfish (Pterophyllum):
P. scalare
P. altum
P. leopoldi
But maybe you mean different types of the P. scalare? There are tons of different types of P. scalare that people breed. You can see different types if you search at Google.
The P. scalare and altum will form couples, but I'm not so sure about the leopoldi. If you will have altum you shall remember that tey'll get bigger that P. scalare, and need a bigger tank (at least 130g).
You can take a look here (http://www.finarama.com/gallery/) and here (http://www.finarama.com/tba/identification.htm) to see the different species of Pterophyllum.

My favorite ones are the altums. But, you can find some pretty cool scalare. I buy one any time I find a pattern I like. There are tons of variations.

I like altums the very best also but there are so many "common" angels out there that are close to being as awsome for far less $.

Altums have a very cool shape, but for variation I like black, albino, and orange koi scalare.
